The screws in Codies jaw had finished being turned by this point so the night before they weaned him of his morphine ready to take his breathing tube out. They took it out and he was doing really well but again only lasted an hour before he went purple, his heart rate dropped and he nearly stopped breathing. Luckily as they had pulled his jaw forward it is much easier to get a tube down his throat.
