They took Codie back down to the operating room to double check there is nothing else wrong with his lungs or airways and to check that there's enough room for him to breathe. There was, so they took his breathing tube out. He breathed for an hour then his breathing went shallow so they had to put the tube back in again but they were unsure and confused about why he couldn't breathe, they thought maybe it was too soon as they hadn't finished extending his jaw fully anyway.
